Barbara was raised on a fish hatchery and currently lives in an Idaho high mountain dessert. In mid life she encouraged the urge to produce with her hands to become a priority. She incorporates her life stories with the natural environment into her earthy encaustic paintings.
Barbara immerses herself into the process of shaping encaustic wax, adding three dimensional features to some pieces. Her art offers an organic, tactile interaction to the owner of her art. The sensory connection between the owner and the art intensifies the relationship, allowing the piece to reach its full potential.
